Our suite of wellbeing and inclusion tools helps schools uncover hidden barriers to learning, identify strengths, and provide targeted, data-informed support.

  • PASS Survey – Pupil Attitudes to Self and School Survey

  • CAT4 – Cognitive Abilities Test

  • YARC – York Assessment of Reading for Comprehension

To further support early identification, Renaissance also offers Dyslexia and Dyscalculia Screeners, designed to highlight specific learning difficulties so that timely, targeted interventions can be implemented.

Each tool is easy to implement and provides clear, reliable insights that help educators make confident decisions at both individual and school-wide levels.

PASS Survey – Pupil attitudes to self and school survey

PASS Survey is a short, evidence-based survey that gives educators powerful insights into how students feel about learning and school. It measures key non-academic factors such as motivation, confidence, perceived learning capability, and feelings about teachers and school.

With PASS, schools can:

  • Spot early signs of disengagement or emotional distress

  • Understand wellbeing trends across classes, year levels, or cohorts

  • Support wellbeing initiatives with precise, measurable data

PASS data is easy to interpret and acts as an early warning system for issues that might otherwise go unnoticed, helping you take timely, proactive steps to support students.

CAT4 – Cognitive Abilities Test

CAT4 doesn’t test what students have learned. Instead, it measures how they process information. By assessing verbal, nonverbal, quantitative, and spatial reasoning, CAT4 gives teachers a deeper understanding of each student’s cognitive strengths and challenges.

CAT4 helps educators to:

  • Identify gifted underachievers or students whose potential isn’t reflected in classroom results

  • Guide subject selection and learning pathways with confidence

  • Tailor teaching strategies to match how each student learns best

It’s particularly valuable for inclusion, as it highlights abilities where traditional tests may not, ensuring students from all backgrounds and learning profiles are recognised and supported.

YARC – York Assessment of Reading for Comprehension

YARC is a one-on-one diagnostic assessment that measures decoding, fluency, and comprehension. It’s beneficial for identifying reading difficulties in students from Foundation through to Year 9.

YARC helps educators:

  • Diagnose specific literacy challenges, including dyslexia and dyscalculia

  • Personalise interventions based on precise reading profiles

  • Track progress over time with aligned Australian norms

By focusing on individual learner needs, YARC ensures that no struggling reader is left behind and that support is always well-targeted and evidence-based.
